The Showgirls Dance company is one of the Motion-Mill’s resident burlesque company, made up of a group of highly motivated dancers and performers that rehearse weekly and deliver regular performances throughout the year. Their style of dance is a mixture of cabaret, burlesque, musical theatre with a bit of jazz, ballet, commercial and contemporary dance. Think showgirls in Vegas or in Paris such as Moulin Rouge. Company membership presents a valuable opportunity to develop your skills and build confidence through intensive training. The Showgirls Dance Company classes are fast space and there are periods throughout the year when the company dancers will require more time and financial commitment (extra rehearsals, more performances, costumes etc - we always try to keep these at minimum IN WEEKLY REHEARSALS YOU WILL: -Develop and refine showgirls dance technique -Build confidence and master theatrical performance skills to awaken the star performer in you -Improve musicality, timing and styling -Learn challenging and innovative choreography WHO CAN JOIN? The Showgirls Dance Company is perfect for those who have completed a Motion-Mill or equivalent dance course, or who have experience in other dance background such as ballet, jazz, musical theatre etc.. To be accepted into this company you will need to attend our introductory class first - Showgirls Dance Company Taster Class. COMPANY MEMBERSHIP The monthly membership fee is £80 per month and is charged for 12 months of the year. There is a minimum membership period of 3 months. This will cover the cost of all official rehearsals and shows for the duration of your membership. The additional cost of costumes and extra rehearsal venue fees will be managed among the company members each year and kept at a minimum. To cancel your membership please email suzy@motion-mill.co.uk a minimum of 14 days ahead of your next monthly payment. Should you wish to cancel your membership during preparations for the annual showcase this needs to be done at least 3 months in advance of the show (so that a replacement for your position can be found in time). Company members are welcoming, passionate and sociable. We’re always looking for new members so, if you have a love of performing and are looking to develop your dance technique with a spice of femininity, book an introductory class to join the company for a fun evening rehearsal!
